I believe in fair competition. Yes, I believe in improving the web. This means that there should be fair competition between other browsers as well as other technology. For without that fair competition, there is a tendency to become complacent with what is already made and not push further to our potential. I have seen software go complacent, and it’s evident that it is complacent with what it is when you see the ui stay the same and not evolve with the OS for many years. It is only when the end users become angry about the situation will those software companies change. In some sense that is great about open source software, because you can go in and make some changes and recompile… (unless it’s beyond your understanding)

From your expertise, what is the best software you have come across?

It’s hard to say best, as there are bugs in every software. There are some that I like based on stability, features, functionality, looks, ui, etc. To name a few: Gimp, Pages, Virtual Box, TextWrangler
